Great Brit Films
is the Associate Producer of the inspirational new film "Red
Dirt: Songs from the dust" and officially announced its release on America's Fox Television on 9th April 2010 during a TV appearance
we secured for filmmaker Lata Gouveia. Since then we have had further Fox TV appearances and been interviewed on several U.S.
radio stations. We anticipate the film will be broadcast by the BBC later this year.
The Mayor of Tulsa hosted the film’s V.I.P. private screening at Oklahoma's Circle Cinema
on 17th May 2010; this exciting event was covered by Channel 6 and Fox Television. Members of the
press, including The Current magazine, were in attendance and celebrities from the film graced the Red Dirt carpet.
A private corporate screening was held at the Circle Cinema in Tulsa on 25th August 2010. This successful event was attended by Oklahoma's elite business leaders,
including representatives of the Tourism and Recreation Department, all of whom wish to preserve the state's world renowned
musical heritage.
The Oklahoma Hall Of Fame has officially endorsed our film stating: "This endorsement
is in recognition of the value which we deem this film to have added to the preservation, promotion and documentation of Oklahoma's
musical heritage. We believe this film will have an important educational role to play in the future and are proud to be associated
with it."
Red Dirt: Songs from the dust is a film that chronicles Portuguese songwriter Lata Gouveia's transatlantic
passage from London England into the outlaw territory of Oklahoma in his solitary quest to unearth the origins of the Tulsa
Sound and America's Red Dirt music.
Lata embarked on a mission to
capture what promised to be the crucial chapter in his understanding of Red Dirt music. The result is a personally guided
journey to the heart of the Red Dirt family, a journey of self-discovery that takes us from Tulsa, Oklahoma to the hills of
Tahlequah and the prairies of the Osage and Pawnee Counties.

BBC, Sky TV and Radio.
Red Dirt: Songs from the dust sees
Rocky Frisco (JJ Cale band) invite Lata to Oklahoma where he would discover the Tulsa Sound, a musical attitude that influenced
an entire generation of his heroes from Eric Clapton to Elton John, George Harrison, Dire Straits and Joe Cocker. Lata visits a variety of Red Dirt musicians, gaining an ever deeper
understanding of how Red Dirt music came about, who makes it and where it fits within the great American musical tradition.
At its heart, Lata finds the ghost of legendary songwriter Bob Childers and that of Woody Guthrie, in the direct blood ties
between the folks of Red Dirt music and the people who endured the Dust Bowl and Great Depression of the 1930's in Oklahoma.
